Los Angeles is home to a diverse selection of cuisines, a perfect opportunity to bring people across the globe together. Olympic Bites: a food pavilion, offers a chance for local Los Angeles restauranteurs to publicly showcase their food and culture. This presents opportunities for publicity, community building, and togetherness. There are five stalls at a time that can be rented out to local LA businesses of various cuisines. Throughout the day, the vendors rotate out, creating a constant rotation of variety and exposure for a multitude of businesses. Each vendor is encouraged to cater pre-packaged good that can be delivered to the pavilion through a designated delivery route. Custom compostable plates and utensils will be provided for ease of disposal. Planters are also scattered throughout the pavilion to act as a composting bucket.
After the Olympics, the stalls can be disjointed and relocated across Los Angeles. After renting out a station, vendors can choose to buy a stall and help promote their business afterwards. The stalls can act as a pop-up stations for the business themselves, or as food collection or food donation stalls. This initiative extends the life of the stalls, supports local businesses, and addresses food insecurity, fostering a sustainable and community-driven legacy.
